About Me

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in the mental health field for over 10 years.

I am a Level 1 Trained Internal Family Systems Therapist (IFS), this is my primary mode of therapy. 

I often combine IFS with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Every therapist brings their own personality to the room, so let me tell you a little about what to expect from me. 

I do not believe that I am here to give you advice or suggest how to live your life. My role as a therapist is to help you learn to sort through your own thoughts, beliefs, and behavior and learn how you might be getting in your own way & how you can change and grow to help you get where you want to be.

You can expect me to challenge you, encourage you to shift perspectives, and offer support on your path.

I often use humor and sarcasm to help drive a point...and, fair warning, "colorful" language.  

 

I believe most issues we struggle with tend to be rooted in events or situations early on in life.

I take history into consideration along with the whole self and the mind body connection.

Meaning, I will inquire about your sleep and sleep routine, how much physical activity your get, how you fuel your body, and your social interaction.

All of these things can, and will, impact your mood, energy, and capacity to deal with life's hurtles.
